There is a God and he wants us to be happy.

I’ve been waiting, in halfhearted sleep,
For a promise I half meant to keep.
Just for hoping that hope still flies,
wipe the sleep out of our sleeping eyes.
…
I know hope has not forgotten me,
I know I’m waking from the longest dream.
“It Was a Dark and Story Night” - Five Iron Frenzy

While trying to find my painting clothes, I found my old band shirts from when I was 16. Oh my.
Top Left to Right:
- Project 86 - This is my forever painting shirt. It’s so faded and torn. Unfortunately, I’ve never seen Project 86 live. This shirt was a “gift” from an Ex. It managed to make it’s way into my collection back in the day. Weird that I still wear it? Maybe. Do I care? Nope.
- MewithoutYou - I have seen these guys play once. It was with Thrice and Brand New in a large, boring venue. Aaron and I chatted up a storm.
- Beloved - This is actually a “hand-me-down” shirt from two people. M. had it long ago and he got it from R.
- Lifestory:Monologue - There are fun details from this shirt! One: The people on the ship are zombies… eating each other. Two: This is a local Toronto band that I’ve seen many times. At these shows I have met more people and ran into old friends more than I can count. Seriously. I’ve run into people at these shows who I met at ones before.
- Emery - Seriously have seen these guys many times. They were my second show, ever. That was back in the day of 2005, when I went to all of my shows with this guy. Honestly, this was my favourite band when I was 16. I know all of the lyrics to their first two albums. Ashamed? Nope.
- Five Iron Frenzy - This shirt was a conversational mastermind. Not to mention, FIF was amazing.
Ladies, Gentlemen. I owned way too many band shirts back in the day. Do I wear any of them now? Not unless I’m painting or doing something where my clothes could get ruined.
Also: This week, I’ll be going to see The Chariot and The Listener with M. and R. just like old times. We used to go to shows together when M. and I were both 16 and R. didn’t have a baby! We used to always go to 7/11 after. Oh the good old days.
(Thank God I’m no longer 16 though)
RE: Five Iron Frenzy
katielopezzz replied to your photo: Does anyone know what Five Iron Frenzy is counting…My brother and I were talking about this today. It totally is. What else could it be? They already have a DVD. And it’s on FIF Day.
YEAH. This can’t just be a coincidence! It’s freaking FIF Day too!
Ohhh! Please please please! This would be AMAZING.
Does anyone know what Five Iron Frenzy is counting down towards?
Please let it be a reunion tour!
(Am I right KatieLopez and TheHelmeteer?!)
